Something feels off and it has for a while. Maybe you can't quite name it. Maybe you've named it a hundred times and still can't shake it. Either way, you're here, and that already takes something.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, major life transitions, and the kind of quiet suffering that doesn't always have an obvious cause. Sessions are one-on-one and fully online, available to anyone in British Columbia.
I don't follow a fixed script in sessions. I pay close attention to what you're actually dealing with and shape the work around that in real time. Some clients benefit from structured, evidence-based approaches. Others need more space to explore and make meaning of what's happening. I draw from a range of established therapeutic models and use what best fits your needs and goals in the moment.
I'm also honest about the process. Some people come for a focused piece of work and feel complete within a short period. Others find that the work opens up new areas they want to continue exploring. Both are valid. I'll be upfront with you about what I think will serve you best, and if I'm not the right fit, I'll help you find someone who is.
While I see clients for a wide range of concerns, I have deep experience in a few specific areas:
Each of these has its own page on this site where you can read more about how I approach that work.
I'm Pete Jamieson, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC #22341) and member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I hold a Master's in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Master's in Human Kinetics (Coaching Science) from UBC.
Before counselling, I spent decades as a high-performance sport coach and high school teacher. That background shapes how I work with people who are carrying a lot and have been doing so quietly for a long time. I'm interested in what's actually going on underneath, not just the presenting problem.

Not everyone lives near a counsellor they'd actually want to see. I offer telehealth sessions to clients across British Columbia, including communities where mental health support is harder to find. Same approach, same commitment, different medium.
We start with a free 15 to 20 minute phone consultation. No commitment, no awkward sales pitch, just a conversation to see whether it makes sense to work together. If I'm not the right fit, I'll tell you and point you somewhere that is.
